Hailey Hot Springs Ranch is a cherished landscape encompassing 2,700 acres in Croy Canyon, just one mile west of Hailey, Idaho. As one of the most intact remaining landscapes in the Wood River Valley, it holds extraordinary value
for our community, wildlife and the environment.
Steeped in the rich history of the valley, the ranch was once home to the renowned Hailey Hot Springs Hotel in the late 1800s and today remains special to generations of residents as a cherished destination for wildflower hikes and winter snowshoeing.
Preserving Hailey Hot Springs Ranch offers a rare opportunity to build upon the success of the Wood River Land Trust’s 486-acre Hailey Greenway. Together, these efforts create nearly 3,000 acres of contiguous public open space, spanning riverfronts, wetlands, streams, sagebrush and high-desert alpine ecosystems, with seamless connections to thousands of acres of public lands beyond.
The property’s wetlands — including nine miles of creeks and streams, and natural geothermal hot springs remain vulnerable to development. The ranch protects critical habitat for sensitive species, including sage grouse, while serving as essential migration corridors for elk, mule deer, moose, pronghorn and sandhill cranes. Additionally, this climate-resilient landscape features a 2,000 foot elevation change, identified by The Nature Conservancy-Idaho as crucial to the region’s environmental future.
As one of the last large, intact private parcels in the area, Hailey Hot Springs Ranch provides critical ecosystem functions that sustain wildlife and offer lasting public enjoyment.
