The Challenge
In the U.S., we’re losing natural spaces about the size of Delaware to development every year. Every acre lost is a missed opportunity. Learn why land conservation matters and how Atira Conservation is making a difference.
Conserving Lands that Matter
Atira Conservation focuses on conserving ecologically rich lands across the U.S. by working with local conservation partners. We’ve helped to protect thousands of acres across 16 states. You can join us in our mission of protecting lands that matter!
Our Successes
Atira Conservation focuses on conserving lands that matter: Our funding supports ecologically rich lands, unique habitats, places with high species diversity or those that play a vital role in plant and wildlife conservation.
Bridging Gaps to Land Conservation
Land protection doesn’t happen overnight. Local trusts and conservation organizations often spend years raising the money needed to protect land; sometimes transactions are stymied when a last piece of vital funding is missing. At Atira Conservation, we specialize in bridging these final funding gaps.

Conserving Lands that Matter
Today we stand at a precipice. Millions of acres are disappearing every year. As these precious spaces are lost, so too are the plants and animals that call them home.
Atira Conservation is making a difference by investing in land conservation projects across the U.S. As a registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt, nonprofit private foundation, we are collaborating with land trusts, conservation organizations and private landowners to safeguard natural spaces for wildlife, for people and for the future of our planet.
